Specifications

VFS Player and all transcribers (software) run on virtually any recent Microsoft Windows computer system. The only major requirement is Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player. It is recommended to install both media players.

Both media players are free and easy to install:

  • download Windows Media Player form Microsoft web site here

  • download Apple QuickTime from Apple web site here

Microsoft Windows Logo Software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Apple Quick Time Player Icon Apple QuickTime Player v. 7.64 or later
Wndows Media Player Icon Windows Media Player v. 9 or later

Software requires: 16 Mb hard disk space, 64 Mb system RAM and 1280*1024 screen resolution.

 


Unicode is 100% supported.Unicode Support

Unicode is OK. All the data you create and use within software is stored in Unicode.

Multiple languages can even be used within a single subtitle.

 


Microsoft Internet Explorer iconInternet Links Support

Internet Links (URLs) are not supported.

 


 Digital Media SupportDigital Media Support

VFS Player doesn't invent any new media formats. Instead it uses embedded Windows Media Player and Apple QucikTime Player for playback. These two most popular players support a huge number of media file formats.

To "playback" (display) static HTML files and graphic files an embedded Microsoft Internet Explorer is used.

Here is a list of file extensions that VFS Player recognizes by default. The user can complete the file extension list for each player - see "Settings" dialog for details.

Microsoft Internet Explorer (Slides) By default, VFS Player supports the following media file extensions for Microsoft Internet Explorer:
