MediaPad

MediaPad is a transcriber application based on notepad. MediaPad works as a client application together with VFS Player. Without VFS Player it acts as an ordinary text editor. MediaPad uses the '*.UTFM' file format (UNICODE text with media links).

The MediaPad main window provides standard text editor interface as well as two additional toolbars.

Media Links

The "Media Links" group contains "Insert Delay", "Default Prefix" and "Default Text" fields. The "Insert Delay" is measured in seconds and defines the media link insertion delay. "Default Prefix" and "Default Text" fields control the default media link and media text appearance. The default media link appears together with media text after the 'Insert Media Link' operation and looks like this:

Here is how the default media link looks like in MediaPad.

It is just formatted text that can be changed by the user any time and in any way.

Subtitles

The "Subtitles" group contains two combo boxes for choosing the 'Style' and 'Font Size' for subtitles. Please, keep in mind that subtitles are displayed in VFS Player application which is capable of defining styles for subtitles.

If "Start Subtitle with Media Link Prefix" is checked then the subtitle (Media Text) is prepended by "Prefix" and a colon. Otherwise "Prefix" is not used and Media Text is displayed "as is".

Automatic Actions

The "Open Documents on Startup" check box controls automatic opening of recent documents.

The "Save Modified Documents on Exit" check box prevents "Do you want to save the modified document?" confirmation message box to appear and provide the automatic silent modified document saving.
