Editing Topic

Dialog 'Edit Topic' appears when the user selects 'Edit' command from the topic menu.

Dialog 'Edit Topic' allows user to change topic name, description and keywords (together with 'Min Count' and 'Different keywords' thresholds) as well as the preview image.

When the application downloads a new article it places the article to the full text search database and then performs the analysis based on topics keywords and thresholds. If some article satisfies the criteria then the article and its feed are added to the topic automatically. That is why there is no 'Add Feed' command in the topics menu.

The preview image can be an image file or a built-in icon.

'Next' and 'Previous' buttons provide easy navigation between topics and work as 'OK' button (i.e. save changes).

'Edit Topic' window looks like this.

Hint

Please keep in mind, that the keywords analysis described above is performed only once when the article is first received. The later keywords and thresholds changes will affect only articles that will be received later (after changes). In existing articles new keywords will be highlighted, but the articles themselves will not be added to the topics with new keywords and thresholds.

 Using Saved Search

One of saved searches can be used to set keywords and thresholds for topics. To display the saved searches tap 'Select saved search' button. The 'Select saved search' dialog appears. Select the required search and tap 'OK'.
